These are the dances that got our parents' generation in the swing - brought across 'The Pond' by the Americans and much disapproved of at the time.

The Lindy Hop will transport you back to the 1930s, when the swing bands were in their prime, belting out music that had style, sophistication - and huge energy. It might look hugely acrobatic when you see the serious people doing all the aerial stuff, but you only need a modest level of fitness and mobility to look the part.

The Jitterbug too summons up a period of history when 'everyone lived for today' - its devil-may-care feeling a potent reminder of the time. So if you'd like to find out what our parents' generation did for their kicks, join our jive weekend designed especially for beginners.

Our host's methods are proven to provide even complete beginners with the knowledge and confidence to take to the floor. Teaching is undertaken during 6 hours over your break within a friendly and relaxed atmosphere, developing achievable stages that build into a basic routine that can be easily remembered.

So roll back the carpet, slip on your dancing shoes and join in the fun!
