Description
Skiing Holiday - St Anton / St Christoph, Austria with Neilson. The St Anton region has more than 100 years of skiing tradition and is considered by many to be one of the best ski areas in the world, encompassing not only St Anton but also St Christoph, Lech, Zurs and Stuben. With over 260km of pisted runs and challenging off-piste opportunities, the Arlberg area has something to keep even the most advanced skiers and boarders entertained.St Anton has developed into the area’s most famous centre. Although large and spread-out, it has heaps of charm and character. Here you’ll find some of the liveliest nightlife in Austria with things warming up from mid-afternoon in the many slopeside bars.
St Christoph is the lesser known but perfectly formed neighbour of St Anton. Located 8km up the road from St Anton at 1800m, it offers a quiet, friendly atmosphere and quick access via a high speed chairlift to the massive St Anton ski area.
This bijou resort is made up of a handful of colourful buildings; high standard hotels, a few restaurants and bars, all conveniently situated at the foot of the local slopes. At 1800m, St Christoph enjoys excellent snow all season. The renowned Arlberg Ski School has a team of instructors based here and also offers a dedicated children’s ski school just outside the Sporthotel. This is a fantastic base for families or anyone wanting the convenience of doorstep skiing in the Arlberg region. Don’t expect the nightlife that St Anton offers, evenings here are generally spent enjoying delicious meals or relaxing in the hotel bar with a few drinks.

Beginners
St Christoph is the more suitable option for beginners thanks to its nursery area next to the Sporthotel. The well-respected Arlberg ski school teaches beginners here before coaching them onto the blue Maiensee I & II runs. St Anton has nursery slopes near the Fang lift but few easy uncrowded runs for beginners to progress onto.
Intermediates
The ski area offers a wealth of blue and red runs to test and improve good intermediate skiers. The choice of lengthy runs is plentiful allowing you to explore all of the Arlberg region.
Advanced
Outstanding! This ski area will provide all that an advanced skier could wish for with a large and varied amount of pisted runs that are backed up by extensive off-piste opportunities. The world-famous Valluga off-piste terrain attracts expert skiers from across the globe.
Snowboarding
This is one of the best freeride areas in the world with lots of steep terrain and natural jumps. There are terrain parks in Lech and Zurs which have a half-pipe, quarter pipe and rail slides. This area is a great destination for good snowboarders.

About Neilson
We've been around for around 25 years. We started as two separate companies, one providing top-end ski holidays and the other taking people sailing in Greece. For around two decades we became better and better at putting together holidays, one company doing fun things in the snow, the other having adventures in the Med. Then, in 1999, Thomas Cook, who owned both companies, decided that it would make sense for us to join together. That was when the famous orange logo appeared, and Neilson as we know it came into existence.
